BioTop KOS domestic wastewater treatment

BioTop KOS is designed to treat domestic wastewater. It combines process units in SWP housings; the equipment supplied and treatment stages are determined by the project.

Treatment stages

Mechanical pretreatment removes debris and fibrous material; sand removal is provided where specified.

Flow equalization smooths variations in incoming wastewater before further treatment.

Biological treatment uses the process zones and aeration specified in the design.

Secondary sedimentation separates purified water from biomass. Part of the biomass is returned to the biological stage; excess biomass is removed.

Post-treatment can include filtration and reagent dosing where required by the process.

UV disinfection is included where specified in the design.

Sludge collection and dewatering equipment are selected for the facility’s operating conditions.

Selection and operation

Provide average and peak flows, wastewater composition, the operating schedule and the discharge point. The design determines the process configuration, equipment, installation arrangement and maintenance access.

During operation, monitor aeration, pumps, sensors and sludge levels. Follow the commissioning settings, sludge-removal schedule and maintenance instructions for the selected system.
